Big Society Capital Bank Build To Encourage Charities And Social Schemes
The £600 million worth rich Big Society Capital bank has been launched as a part of David Cameron's Big Society project. In this, there are millions of pounds of 'inactive’ cash which are held in High Street banks across the country has been going to be reused by the Government to fund in this new bank that will lend to charities and social schemes. The newly-launched investment fund has been created as a standalone vehicle, independent of the government.
The newly-launched bank is funded by £400 million worth of cash lingering in ordinary Britons' bank accounts. In this, the money must have been left unused for at least 15 years before it is co-opted by the Government. Moreover, bank customers will still be able to claim back money given to the Government as fund if they can prove it is theirs rightfully. The money loaned from the bank to social enterprises and charities will be paid back from the income they generate. The money will fund social enterprises, examples include the Big Issue magazine sold by those Britons who are at the risk of being homeless and the retail store branch of the Oxfam charity, ...
... Mr. Cameron said.
Moreover, by building such a bank, the Prime Minister is hoping to fix the country's deepest social problems by redirecting unused money to deserving charity and community projects. He said that Big Society Capital is going to encourage charities and social enterprises to prove their business models. Once they've prove the success in one area, they'll be able to work out as a business to seek investment for expansion into the wider region and within the country. This is a self-sustaining, independent market that is going to help in building the Big Society. The other £200 million in the new investment fund has been sourced from High Street monoliths Barclays, Lloyds, HSBC and RBS. Some around 60 per cent of its shares are owned by the Big Society Trust, a private company comprised of executives from social, business and government roles. Barclays, Lloyds, RBS and HSBC hold the remaining shares in it. Apply with adverse unsecured loans and get required money easily without facing any problem.
The Prime Minister who has been facing criticisms over the overarching social project has called the Big Society vision as his 'mission' in politics. He further added that it is central to the 'social recovery' Britain desperately needs.
