Bandhavgarh National Park

This national park was established in 1968 and was named after an ancient fort in the same area. The forests in the park are surrounded by high cliffs and mountains whereas the park itself comprises of mixed flora like sal trees and tall grasslands. The park provides a natural habitat for animals like the leopard, sloth bear, porcupine, spotted deer and of course, the tiger. Kanha National Park

Satpura National Park

Although the tiger remains a favorite, tourists will enjoy viewing animals like the Indian Giant Squirrel, sambar, sloth bear, wild boar, marsh crocodiles and antelopes. The park offers jeep safaris, boat rides and elephant safari rides for tourists and the best time for a visit here is between November to March.


Pench National Park

This park is situated on the southern slopes of the Satpuda Hills and it is the river Pench that divides the park into two. Rumored to be the original setting for Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book’, the uneven terrain is criss-crossed by streams and natural waterholes. One can find deciduous forests, shrubs, sheltered valleys as well as wild grass here. The park is home to more than 1200 varieties of plant life and its diverse wildlife is a treat for any nature lover. Pench deserves its place as one of the best National Parks in Madhya Pradesh even today.
