We decided to move to France after few years of skiing & hiking in the Trois Vallees. We also enjoyed a few spring and summer breaks here Hiking in the Trois Vallees and we were completely blown away by the beautiful mountains as well as the surrounding areas.

From Les Chavonnes, people with skiing experience will be able to ski down to the Olympe cable car this will put you in the middle of the Trois Vallees, Meribel, in 25 minutes. About Les Trois Vallees & Ski Meribel

Les Trois Vallees Skiing domain is vast, but on its own, the lovely , Meribel offers skiers a great choice of slopes, inclusive of some beautiful tree-lined runs. And hence the resorts great location, you can follow the sun all day. Starts from 1100m at village level to 2350m on Mont Joly and the season lasts in to late April.

Ski Meribel an La Perriere

Meribel is well known for its fabulous sunshine in the Alps and is a beautiful location to ski. When you are planning your day remind yourself that slopes on the eastern side (nearest Courchevel) get the afternoon sun, so are usually best visited after lunch.

Ski Mottaret

Mottaret is perhaps the best placed village when skiing in the Three Valleys area, being one lift away from Courchevel, St Martin and Les Menuires, and two from Val Thorens. Take the lovely tree lined Truite which will deliver you to Chaudanne ( Meribel’s lift area). Brides-les-Bains is accessible off-piste if you know what you are doing and theres enough snow.

Ski Courchevel

Most people tend to head to Courchevel 1850. From Ski Meribel & Perriere you would travel through the station then taking 1 of the 3 long green runs towards La Croisette (the main lift area in 1850 Having said that, do not miss out Creux which runs between 1650 and 1850 – one of the finest runs in Courchevel.

1650 is located as the furthest point of the Ski Trois Vallees where you will find some brilliant pistes which you will find keeps its snow for much longer due to the decrease in traffic.

Ski La Tania

gets a little less sunshine than other villages this means that the pistes will get icy, you will find especially early morning, but dont let that put you off. Tree lined Folyeres is one of the loveliest runs throughout the Alps, although it can feel more red than blue in a freezing climate.

Ski La Praz

At 1300m, has two of the best possible blacks in the Three Valleys, Jean Blanc and Jockeys, including the long and difficult red.

Les Menuires and St Martin

Les Menuires, possibly the ugliest resort in the Alps, and St Martin, possibly one of the prettiest, both these locations offer long, cruisy, confidence-boosting reds and blues. The most favourite of which are Jerusalem, Pramint and Allemandes. For blues do not miss out on Pelozet, Gros Tougne and Petit Creux.

Val Thorens

Situated at 2300m this is the highest point of the Three Valleys, so you should not expect charming tree-lined runs. However,its elevation will help to retain the snow long after the other valleys have lost theirs. Val Thorens in addition gives you access to the fourth valley Orelle, a must do if you are a good intermediate.
