A phone meeting or a conference call is normal today when it comes to discussions that you need to have with lots of people in various locations. The concept of a conference call started in the 1990s but at that time only a few people could be routed into a single call. Because of this, the concept of a toll free number was introduced after a few years.

When you set up a phone meeting for your office you save the company a lot on travel costs. Let’s consider the math. If you were to have a meeting for about 10 people who need to come from 3 different locations, the cost of this one meeting would be tremendously more than a phone call. With a conference call, the only inconvenience someone will have to face is taking a call at an inconvenient time. This is only the case if the locations of the meetings are extremely far.
