Interesting New Travel Gadgets

While cheap travel options including cheap airplane tickets, discount hotel rooms and cheap vacation packages continue to remain important to most travelers, new travel gadgets are being introduced that can enhance tourist experiences.
The following are hot new travel gadgets identified by Budget Travel that were introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas in January:
• The Sony P is a tablet which weighs only a half pound and folds in half for easy portability. It comes with two 5.5 inch screens which allow for multiple functions to run simultaneously or the user to view one larger picture. Pricing and availability will be announced in the spring.
• The Powerbag, at prices ranging from $139 to $249, is available is available in backpack, strap bag and roller bag forms and includes a battery charger with charger cables to power iPads, iPods and iPhones while on the go.
• The Jawbone UP, at $99, is a wristband which measures activity, sleep and nutrition and passes this information to an app on your Smartphone. Its battery lasts 10 days and even works in the shower. The Jawbone UP ...
... comes with a silent alarm that goes offer periodically when the band senses a little too much down time.
• Q i-wear, at $299, comes with a pair of shatterproof sunglasses with iPod connected earbuds. The glasses transmit music via Bluetooth stereo earbuds while toning down ambient noise and allows phone calls at the same time.
• FOXL v2, at $199, is a pocketsize speaker system which provides a full range of tones, streamed via Bluetooth from a Smartphone or tablet and comes with a built in mic for group phone calls. It is waterproof and weighs just 9 oz.
• Polaroid Z340, at $299, is a 14 megapixel digital camera that prints out border and dated photos immediately after a picture is taken. This camera keeps a copy in memory so pictures can never be lost for good.
• iLuv Dream Traveler, at $69.99, is a slim travel size combo power strip that includes surge protection and a USB charger for up to six devices.
• The Cloud Camera 5000, at $250, by D-Link will debut in April and keeps an eye on home when a traveler is away. The camera has a motorized pan and tilt base that can be accessed and controlled through the company’s “mydlink” interface. Set motion sensor triggers will email users alerts if something is amiss while they are away.
• ViewerMate, priced between $29 and $34, is a V shaped, wallet sized Velcro platform that serves as a flexible, yet stable, viewing stand for a smartphone and can be attached to an up and locked tray table for watching movies in the air or attached to a car visor for hands free GPS assistance.
