The Bachelor of technology (commonly abbreviated as B.Tech. or B.Tech.(Hons)) is an undergraduate academic degree conferred after completion of a three or four year program of studies at an accredited university or accredited university-level institution. The IGNOU Bachelor of Technology in Engineering degree is awarded after completion of a 4 year program(Eight Semester which includes seminar,practicals & Projects). The B.Tech. degree is conferred by government and private institutions in various fields like Applied Electronics and Instrumentation, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics (Communication & Instrumentation) Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nanotechnology, Electrical Engineering, Automobile engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering(Food Tech Engineering).

... appropriate knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes. The B.Ed Programme of IGNOU is recognized by the NCTE vide their letter no. F3/DL-83/99/7807 - 7812 dated 31.05.1999 and is offered in NCTE approved Training Colleges in the country.

For Admission in IGNOU B.Tech one should be eligible of Bachelor's degree or a Higher Degree with fifty (50%) percent marks from a recognized University. However, the requirement of 50% marks shall not apply to the teachers appointed prior to the commencement of NCTE Regulation Norms and Procedures, second amendment regulation dated 30.03.2010 and Gazette Notification dated 26/07/2010.Serving teachers with two years (2 years) full time teaching experience in a Government or Government Recognized School. The reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central / State Government whichever is applicable. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks for them.

Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination (Bachelors/Higher Degree) and the results are awaited can also apply.
