Remembering passwords and keeping track of your account names can be a cumbersome job if you have many different accounts. If you are an avid internet user it's highly probable that you have around ten accounts names and their passwords to remember. You cannot write them down because if it gets misplaced then you are ruined. There is a better option. You can make use of password manager software tools.

Here are some of the features that a good password manager software should have. First of all it should allow you the liberty of not having to remember your passwords. Nothing can be more frustrating than not being able to remember the password to an account. A good password manager software does not let this happen. Your account names and their respective passwords are saved on a database by the password manager. So when you go to an account it automatically fills in your login and passwords thereby saving you a lot of trouble.

It's true that even a browser can do this much for you. But the problem with a browser is that it can do as much for anybody who has access to your system. In other words it's not safe ...
... to let your browser remember your passwords in case somebody else accesses your PC and gets into your account. A password manager saves your passwords to a central database which can be locked by one master password. So when you start your work you just have to unlock that master password and lock it again when you have finished your work.

A good password manager has the ability to create strong passwords that cannot be guessed or hacked easily. A machine made password is a random combination of numerals and alphabets which is very difficult to crack.

Your password manager should also have structuralized password storage feature so that it can group different kinds of passwords into different categories. This makes it easier for to know where to look for a particular password.

If your software manager has the feature of allowing you to store your password manager database on an e-mail server then you can easily access your accounts from a different system as well.
