Alcoholism is one of the major and disturbing problems in society because it starts straight from the family. The disease has a lasting effect. They end up being physical, economic and psychological. The first sign of the alcoholism is always physical. The effects can also cause death, which is a lasting effect on society and the family. Losing one's life that is not only a person lost it might have been the next president or an event for the cure of cancer and other global warming problems. For young people, it is either how to stop drinking or dont start drinking.
Alcoholism will always cause damage to the neurons which affects the brain and other vital organs of the body. The person who is an alcoholic always wants to act like things are under control. They drink in secret and make sure that people are not suspecting them; it is a great proof of denial. Once they are told that they are drinking they act like ...
... start being very protective and behave like they are being accused falsely. To them when they are found it is a great sign of shame and weakness knowing they are not ready to ask for help. Such people are just too proud to admit that they have a problem and ask for assistance on how to stop drinking.
Drinking alone is another sign that one is an alcoholic. When drinking in a group person may tend to tell you that you are drinking too much. At this point, one cannot control the way that they are drinking, and they do not want to be judged. They would prefer to sit alone and drink until they feel that have had their fill for the day. The worst thing they fear and do not want to hear is being judged. There is no limitation of how much alcohol you are going to consume or how to stop drinking for that night.
The drinking becomes a practise that can either be done before or after meals, or even after leaving work. It becomes something that must be done and no one, and nothing can change the persons schedule. The best way is not to judge such people but let them come to terms with their problems. Judging them will only push them more into drinking and if possible let them drink while they are with you. They stop doing things that they really enjoyed such as playing golf, there is a loss of interest. The interest has been stolen by the drinking of alcohol, there is no way to tell them how to stop drinking.
The body gets used to the time one is supposed to drink and when this time comes the individual may feel irritated. There is a certain discomfort that arises especially when the alcohol is not enough. This makes one to gulp alcohol in order to get drunk immediately. It has moved from drinking because you enjoy to drinking because you must.
