This Memorial Day weekend was a great week. We had a parade which I took my beautiful baby girl to see. We weren't there that long because we woke up a bit late but she did see some of it. Along with that her uncle was with her and he was teaching her how to crawl. She didn't exactly get it because she kept falling down and couldn't get the coordination of it but that didn't last too long. He would crawl around her very slowly and show her exactly how to do it. Then he would try and get her to do it.

Thinking about crawling you never really think about how hard that actual movement really is. If you use the wrong combination of hand and leg movement you end up falling flat on your face. Imagine just how difficult it makes it for a child who can't walk or speak at the present moment. As he would crawl around her and show her how to crawl she would study him and watch his legs and arms move together. It was amazing to see her face as she studied him and his movements. He did them slow and with all the intention of her learning them as she watched him do it. She is a great mimicker as it seems all babies are because all ...
... their habits and language seems to be picked up from their parents.

Continuing on her uncle left that Monday and the very next day just like clockwork she was up and crawling like a little race car. After that there was no stopping her. I can't describe the feeling that I felt watching her take her first crawling steps. I was staring at her in utter amazement because I didn't think she would be doing it so soon after being shown how. It's such an amazing thing to see especially when it is your first child. I didn't know how to react but I was overjoyed.

Unfortunately now I am going to be and really need to be more worried about her. One minute she could be sitting next to me, the next she could be gone. That's exactly what happened the other day. She was sitting next to me on the floor and I was working. I looked at her doing something one minute and the next she was gone. I got up to see where she was and I couldn't find her. It turned out she ran to the other room chasing the cat.

Just like that my little baby is a crawling machine which gave me so much joy to see but as she keeps moving and learning how to do it better she is going to worry me beyond belief.
