According to the PTI correspondence the price of BlackBerry Curve CDMA with model 8530 has been reduced by 12 percent and now available for £147 approx (11,990 INR). This promoting is made by BlackBerry to enhance the sales of its CDMA models. The model of BlackBerry had earlier cost of £167 (13,500 INR) and it is the CDMA version of BlackBerry Curve 8520. According to Francis Jose, the Head of CDMA business of RIM, the CDMA phones nowadays are becoming rare in Smartphone markets and if available then there is very less choice being offered to customers. So to make the CDMA market boost up BlackBerry has relaunched its Curve 8530. This Smartphone will emerge as a good option for CDMA users.

While talking particularly about Indian market, between the technology of CDMA and GSM, latter is ruling the market with Operator Brands like Idea cellular, Vodafone India, Bharti Airtel and many more. But CDMA Operator brands are Sistema Shyam Teleservices, Reliance Communications, and Tata Teleservices. Out of them Reliance and Tata also offers their Operator services in GSM also.
