However there are smart phone apps available that can make fliers all the more savvy:

• The Flyers Rights app which sells for 99 cents informs travelers about such things as airlines not being able to legally hold passengers flying domestically on a tarmac for over three hours. This app enables users to log in delays in real time, using the app’s GPS system and map for future evidence. The app provides tips about what to do when faced with delays and specific information about the legal rights of passengers.

• Priory Pass is a free app which checks out available airline lounges at airports. Photos and offers can be viewed before deciding whether to pay for a pass inside or to sit in a regular waiting room that looks just as nice for free.

• B4 You Board is a free app that enables users to order food from nearby restaurants that is delivered directly to passengers at their gates. Healthy or just tasty food not reheated in the airplane gallery is often available ...
... at cheaper prices than an airline meal. Users are offered far more choices than they see from airlines.

• Next Flight app sells for $2.99 shows users a list of all available flights from all airlines the same day as well as the next two days. When no flights are available this app will search for hotels, cabs, and car rentals.
