I have very real childhood memories of my fifth birthday, and having my ears pierced. Ouch is the only thing I could think of! Although the experience was thrilling, it was also painful.

Since that time, I've collected my share of earrings along the way. But recently, I discovered the joy of wearing clip earrings. Earlobe injuries and discomfort, or fussing with a piercing that just won't open is non-existent. And did I mention how versatile they were? I used to consider clip-ons as an old fashion vestige of my grandmother's time, but not anymore.

In many shops or online boutiques, you'll discover clip earrings that are delightful. Additionally, after you read the following, you'll be convinced that clip-on earrings will work for you as well.

1. If you're squeamish about having a needle or other sharp metal instrument pushed through your earlobe, this is the alternative for you. All you get is pure fashion and don't have to haggle with the pain.

2. Variety is the spice of life, or so they say. And the quantity of variety just might make you dizzy.

3. Metal allergy suffers, ...
... clip-ons are a fashion freedom. You'll never have to look for an alternative accessory because your ears are suffering an allergic reaction. You'll never have to create a hairstyle to cover up your ears, unless, of course, you choose too.

4. Clip-on wearers also have a reduced risk for earlobe infections when compared with their pierced counterparts. You won't have to try and figure out if your earring is made from surgical steel, nickel, or anything else. Simply clip, dangle, and go.

5. People with pierced ears are at a greater risk for earlobe injury such as accidental tears. Just thinking about such things might make you nauseous. Fortunately, clip-ons can support the weight of heavy earrings and if they're too heavy, they fall off without injury.

6. Keloid sufferers also have a hard time when it comes to wearing pierced earrings. Aside from the injury that might happen with piercing, you will also want to make sure that the clips aren't applying too much pressure.

7. Teenagers always want to keep up with their peers, but many parents don't feel at ease with piercing their children's ears. Peer pressure is hard to handle, but if a teenager can't get their ears pierced clip-ons save the day.

So if you're not a clip-on convert yet, you should be. Your pierced ears just might need a break as well. With that being said, hurry up and get to a clip earring shop near you!
