You don't have to be the sharpest tool in the box to know that blunt tools are not going to be particularly effective. And yet, a surprising number of people do not change their hand tools and power tools anywhere near as often as they should.

Knowing when to change your tools can be very important, but since items get worn slowly overtime it can often be hard to really notice when something has become ineffectual since the change will be such a gradual one.
