You are not the only one who struggles. Many people do, and so did I. I was once desperate to improve my embarrassingly poor German vocabulary. However hard I tried to learn German words, they just would not stay in memory! But my German vocabulary has started to improve remarkably since I started to apply this new method. ... new method does take time, I have to say, but if you’ve tried all the memory tricks but still haven’t had a good way to learn new words, try this: Making karaoke clips.

Making a karaoke clip is not complicated, at least not as complicated as you might think. You will need a karaoke clip making program, and the songs you like – both the lyrics and the melody.

Here’s one way I’ve found to create them quickly and easily:

To start, I choose a short, easy song with simple words.

Type the song lyric into a TXT file and save it (I use Notepad.)

Choose an appropriate picture as the background for the clip. (I’m very much in love with Christmas, and looking at the red and green color theme of Christmas catches my interest.)

I use AV Video Karaoke Maker to create the clip. This program is free, and I’ve found it very easy to use.

When you’ve made the video clip, it’s time to start the fun. Relax in your chair and enjoy the music, singing with the lyric.

This will help you remember your words much more easily. You can also improve your pronunciation, and as you come to remember the song or even just a few lines, you will learn irregular verbs, expressions, idioms, grammatical structures, etc. in a very natural way.
