I just took part in a training course. In the class, teachers asked all the students to have an impromptu speech. Everyone person have one minute to prepare for, and then we all make a speech one by one. The last 10 seconds, the bell rang. If the people have finished the speech, the time did not arrive at one minute, according to rules, they have to stand on the stage in a minute with smile.

Speech began. Some people got topics of “nanotechnology” and “The Duke of Mount”; some people have the topics of “financial freedom” to “Dualism”. The speech ruled that if you get the topic which you never know that, you can develop the subject.

A student faced a new topic; he is reluctant to speak out two words which are far away from the theme. He said: “sorry, I did not understand what’s meaning of this theme.” And then he prepared to leave the stage. The teacher stopped his action. This student had to stand at there for one minutes with smile. He smiled reluctantly and accepted it.

The classroom kept silence; even I could hear the time was passing. All the students stared at that lecturer. ...
... At first he pretended to be very release, and gave us a big smile. With the time past, the smile disappeared slowly. I was very worry about him. Actually he just only need to speak again, he would have the opportunities to get rid of embarrassment. But he stood there without any efforts. The time did not come, he because more embarrassed. His embarrassment caused all the people laugh. He did not know how to put his hand, and stared to keep wipe perspiration. Finally the bell rang; he went down the platform as soon as possible.

I don’t know what the feelings of others were, but this was the long minute I have experienced. I thought that student must feel like through a year on the stage. A actually it is a small course, but suddenly I feel this prompt speech is like a simulation of life. In the front, everyone has a fair one minute, just like as us who have own life.
