Back injuries are one of the most common injuries in the workplace. Whilst many assume that such injuries will only blight those working in an environment involving a great deal of manual handling, in reality such problems are seen in almost every workplace and even fairly light object will need to be lifted using the right technique if employees are to avoid doing themselves harm.

Falls are extremely rare in the workplace. Instead, the two biggest causes of injury are falling objects and manual lifting. Both of these will usually be the fault of poor technique as if items aren’t lifted on to shelves and racks properly then they are more likely to fall at a later time.

Many workplaces are also likely to benefit from lifting equipment. Not only will trolleys and lifting equipment allow people to get their work done far faster, but it will also mean that items are likely to be stored a great deal more safely too, removing the chance for falling objects to injure staff as well.

Even fairly light items can eventually put a great deal of stress on one’s back. Repetitive strain can be as problematic as incorrectly ...
... lifting extremely heavy items and, as such, many businesses who work with lighter goods are also likely to greatly benefit from using trolleys. Such items can also just simply speed up operations, ensuring that the small amount of money spent on them is recouped through efficiency in a very short space of time.

Even when loading a trolley, certain care should be paid to lifting and from planning each and every lift to taking the time to ensure that each and every member of staff understands the best lifting techniques, just a small amount of thought can not only help injuries be avoided, but also simply allow you to be far more efficient too.
