Lots of folks around the world brew coffee in their homes each day since coffee is the world's #1 beverage. Preparing a mug of coffee may seem like a simple endeavor, but the truth is that there are many different ways to prepare a cup of this acidic black liquid. Although they look about the same and taste quite similar, there are some noticeable differences between the different coffee beans grown around the world. And even the manner in which coffee is roasted and ground will have an effect on the way it tastes and the way it should be brewed. What brewing style will you choose to use at home and how will it affect the taste of your morning coffee?

Drip coffee makers are the most popular devices for making coffee in the United States and many other countries. Drip coffee makers are aptly named since they drip hot water through the coffee grounds and then filter out the grounds as the brewed beverages falls down into the coffee pot. Since they are highly popular, they are made in many different styles and sizes; a small drip machine can prepare just 2 or 4 cups in one cycle while larger ones make gigantic 10 ...
... or 12 cup pots.

You can also brew coffee with a percolator, which are just slightly less popular than their drip makers. A percolator is either plugged in or put on the stove to boil the water that is then forced up through the grounds once it begins to heat and boil. Some people refer to percolators as camping coffee pots since they are often used in the outdoors over a fire. Even though it could seem easier to just plug in a drip maker to make a cup of coffee, many people prefer the taste of coffee made with a stovetop percolator.

Coffee can also be prepared using a French press or espresso machine. To use a French press, you put the coffee grounds in the pot, then add boiling water and allow the mix to brew for a few minutes; once it is ready, you push the piston down to remove the grounds.

Cerain people feel overwhelmed with all their options of how to brew coffee. The ideal way to choose is to make coffee using several different methods and then decide which cup has the most flavorful brew.
