Pressure Points In Relieving Anxiety

A lot of people experience stage fright at one point or another. For some people, their stage fright provides them with an edge, a kind that gives excitement and stimulates how they perform. If at a low degree, stage fright is a plus. However for others, this anxiety can go out of control and this can destroy an otherwise very good performance. Stage fright, which is also called performance anxiety in many cases, is the effect of tension. When you have stress in your throat or if you experience butterflies in the stomach, then you have to place it somewhere else.
There are pressure points that could relieve anxiety. And stated in the Oriental bodywork technique in Shiatsu massage, there are specific pressure points in a person’s body that corresponds in relieving anxiety and the nervous energy.
You just need to put pressure on the pressure point and maintain it for ten to fifteen seconds, put on hard pressure on the exact spot. Maintain the pressure and then release it. Go on to another pressure point. All throughout this exercise remember to breathe in and breathe out, deep and slow.

... in reducing tension. First, squeeze your hands to very tight fists then hold them like that for ten seconds and then release. Next, stretch up your toes, curl your toes under and hold for ten seconds and then release. This exercise helps you shift your inner tension down to your toes and to your hands, and you can most likely leave (and deliver) with it there.
Here are a few pressure points in relieving nervous energy and anxiety:
• The middle of your chin
• The middle of your palms which are upturned, both right and left
• The cleft/space of the upper lip, that’s directly below your nose. There’s no need to believe in spirits or crystals or anything that is special for this technique to work – this is truly a physical thing.
