First and foremost, people should realize that the effort should be extended even after training. During the gym sessions, some people who build muscles are fascinated by the idea and on realization that they have achieved their goal, end up giving up on the training. What happens is that, the big envious biceps soon become a thing of the past as your body goes back to normal.
Secondly, there is much more training involved getting big biceps other than just focusing on pull ups and chin ups. People who fail to concentrate on their chest, back and shoulder end up with biceps that are not in proportion to each other. This means that proper techniques have to be used if at all the results are to be seen in due time.

Professional trainers always insist on continuous workouts which cause constant tension of the biceps. If you keep on resting during the workout, there is not enough oxygen in the muscle to enhance muscle growth. Taking pauses all through the workout session has always proved to be fruitless. However, this is not to say that you shouldnt rest when nature calls. You will know when your body has had enough and it is always good to take a rest to avoid emergencies.
Using the same exercises to get big biceps is not advisable. The dumbbell and barbell curls are good to build big biceps easily but they should be done with together with other alternatives. This is especially true when theses two exercises no longer show any significant progress after a while.
The other common mistake that people make is working out exercises in the wrong order. This happens when instead of focusing on the strenuous exercises at the beginning and the easier at the end, some people tend to do the exact opposite. This makes them tire quickly since the heavy exercises when done first require that energy available at the beginning of the workout.
Anyone who avoids these simple mistakes should expect to see some changes after a few workout sessions. Remember that, with bicep training quality is better than quantity. You are better of doing 10 quality exercises than 30 sets of pure garbage.
