Preeti Shenoy Is Back With Her Third Book
India has a very few women writers and the latest to join the bandwagon is Preeti Shenoy aka Preeti Kamath. This Kendriya Vidyalaya prodigy entered the literary scene in 2008 with a nonfiction book. Until then she has been honing her writing skills. The thought of becoming a professional writer hit her when her blog that she started in 2006 to get over the grief and shock of losing her father became a success. The blog titled ‘Just a mother of two’ made an emotional connect with all those who read it making it one of the popular blogs. She was then invited to contribute articles regularly for the newspaper Times of India and found her articles published in Reader’s Digest. The favorable reception that she got for her first publications encouraged her to write a book. Until now, she has written three books. Apart from being a blogger and writer, she is also a poet and painter.

It was on her readers’ suggestion that she decided to come up with a collection of short stories. All the stories in her book deal with the trials and tribulations of life. The stories mentioned in the book are something that can happen to anyone at anytime. What made this book popular was that it made people to look at life differently.

It narrates the story of Ankita Sharma, a fun loving, beautiful and smart girl. She is diagnosed with bipolar disorder and is admitted to a mental hospital. The rest of the story is how she braves all odds.
Tea for Two and a Piece of Cake
Set in Mumbai and Pondicherry, it is a book of our times. It narrates the story of a woman and mother of two. Her husband walks out leaving his wife to fend for herself and her children. He marries and settles down with a younger woman while his wife struggles to make both ends meet. She triumphs against all odds to be a successful woman. Preeti Shenoy vaguely touches upon how the society looks differently at men and women.
