Internet is the biggest boon to many. From finding assignments for a college topic to researching on a particular subject and from internet shopping to social networking, there are quite a lot of advantages to many. Our world has become a really small place with the evolution of internet. Now, there is access to some of the Fastest Internet connections which helps in saving time and finish a lot more work online that what was done before. Internet is being used as a platform by many to promote their product and service and it is a type of media that has the fastest and effective reach among the users unlike the other media. Nowadays, if there is an earthquake happening in a country, the news is online in a matter of seconds. Though there is a huge list on the advantages, it also has some disadvantages. The main set back in internet is the growing internet addiction.

If that gives you an uneasy feeling, maybe you better check yourself!!!”, “I’m invincible!”, “fever: (”, etc. day by day the updates gets even more ridiculous! And now statuses are update with just a smile, and there are those who are jobless enough to comment on that status without knowing what the status actually means. Though there are many who wish to vent out their feelings, it is a more of attention seeking more than anything else.
Meeting someone, talking to him or her and slowly getting into a relationship are all old fashion for many. Now, relationship and break-ups happen online and it is not kept a status. There will statuses short of saying that the guy or girl has dumped the particular person. Nowadays, there are many who get in to relationships so that they can post the so-called cool statuses online. Social networking has become a life line for many. They just cannot go without checking their page a minimum of three to four times a day. I have heard many say that they feel like their right has been cut off when that are unable to check their social networking site even for a day! There are many who has subscribed for internet connection on mobile phones exclusively for social networking. It has become a common scenario to find a couple of college students vigorously typing on their phones hidden under the desks. More than addiction, it could call an obsession. There are many who just want people to go wow about their lifestyle and a few other who want the world to know that they have been in a meaningless relationship and are breaking up because their guy or girl does not “like” any of the statuses or photos they post! Ever heard about relationships breaking because of a social networking website? It is happening nowadays!
Social networking, more than calling it an addiction, it has become an obsession to many. Many have to prove to themselves and others that they are pretty cool and they have a very hip lifestyle that they want the others to admire. There are people who are so addicted, that they take self pictures of themselves admitted in hospital and post those pictures saying they had met with an accident and had been hospitalized. There are many who have lost jobs because of the information or statuses that they post on a public forum!
