DVD also beats VHS tapes hands down when it comes to storage a DVD can easily store 4.7GB of data which is a lot of space to store any thing. DVDs have nearly replaced the VHS format because of its versatility. And its extremely hard to find a VHS player to play your existing VHS tapes. ...

Instructions to copy VHS to DVD: Put the VHS tape into a VCR just to ensure that the tapes are in working condition before you try to make a copy of them. Then use the cables to connect to the output of the VHS player to the input of the DVD recorder or any DVD recording device. There are plenty of devices in the market that help you not only copy the VHS to DVD but also help you edit the matter before you actually copy it into a DVD.
Requirements for conversion: VHS Player, Computer, Graphics Card, DVD Burner (DVD Writer) and Conversion Software. There are various other equipments available in the market, which assist in converting your VHS tape to DVD apart from the ones mentioned above. But all server the same purpose of converting the VHS tape to DVD.
The computer will need to have a video capture card so that it can convert the analog video signals to a digital format. Captures and converts the video to enable you to write a DVD.
Things you must keep in mind before you start: The results of the conversion will depend on the state of the VHS tape. Buy a high quality DVD for a longer life span. Ensure you have lots of free hard-disk space on your computer.
