Affordable Flights Boost Exploration

Back in the day flying used to be a luxury for only those who could boast a fat bank balance and beautiful big houses.

Fortunately for us, things changed somewhere along the line and gradually over the years flying became more affordable.

Being fortunate enough to live in Cape Town, I became more and more aware of people with funky accents and a totally different sense of fashion.

Opening the paper the other day, I read that Cape Town is currently one of the top tourism destinations in the world. I was quite chuffed with the article as it praised Cape Town and its surrounds- Cape Town's beauty, scenic splendour, beaches and of course beautiful people.

The article got me thinking- what has made things change? Why all of the sudden is there new people exploring South Africa, adoring the magnificent city of Cape Town and boosting tourism?

A little bit of thinking brought the answer to me. It seems that the price of traveling the world is not as expensive as it's always been. Nowadays you can take a flight on Friday night to visit your mommy in Johannesburg, be back by Sunday and NOT be broke! ...

Amazing isn't it? Instead of driving for hours, you can now fly around in South Africa and reach your end destination in under 4 hours! Best of all, you can actually afford it.

Now with the latest petrol increases I'm getting a tad worried, but checking prices on my favorite price comparison website I realised that even with my small bank balance I can still afford a ticket to fly to my family in Port Elizabeth.

Air traffic, aeroplanes, flight, the big monster in the sky, the Wright brothers' magnificent invention- call it what you want- being able to reach your end destination for an affordable price with these magnificent creations has opened many doors for us.

Any person from anywhere in the world can now explore and experience the countries of the world. Aeroplanes and flights connect us to magnificent cultures, cities and people!

It can however take some time to find the airline with the best prices available for the flight you are interested in. After spending hours on the Internet comparing prices, I discovered a fabulous South African website that does all the hard work for you!

It sounds unbelievable doesn't it? Basically what happens is this website makes use of technology that searches through all airline websites and comes back with only the lowest priced flights.

What I've noticed is that many a time I can get a cheap flight on one airline to my destination and a cheap flight back home from another airline. Of course, I make sure to choose the cheapest flights so that I can save money to spend on goodies!

Lately I've noticed that not only do they offer domestic flights, they have regional and international flights available! For my next trip I've decided its time to start exploring some of the international countries I've always wanted to visit.

This explorer's heart is pumping sweet nectar, as I've realised that I can actually- for once- afford to fly overseas. What a blessing for my soul- just another reason to embrace today's technology and still love the Wright brothers' for their magnificent invention!
