Hero Honda Karizma is not an unknown name in the bike market. Hero Honda Karizma has an image of being the first sports bike in India. Karizma has put Hero Honda as the fast and high quality bike manufacturer. Hero Honda Karizma supposedly fits every situation, be it racing, cruising or regular everyday commuting.

Hero Honda Karizma was then upgraded to Hero Honda Karizma ZMR and it got overwhelming response from the bike enthusiast. Now Hero Honda has given Karizma ZMR an upgrade and has launched new Hero Honda Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi. Hero Honda has decided not to phase out the previous Karizma R and Karizma ZMR and sell all the models simultaneously. Hero Honda intends not to end its competition with rival bikes Apache and Pulsar.

Hero Honda Karizma is all about styling, so lets see how this new model Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi dazzles. Hero Honda has given Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi a serious facelift and has totally reworked its design and styling.

... has an international appeal to it and looks much sportier. Karizma PGM-Fi looks inspired from Suzuki Hayabusa and has a close resemblance to it. Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi has new fierce looking headlamps with integrated blinkers and a LED tail lamp integrated with clear len side indicators. Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi also features body colored rear view mirrors, newly designed silencer and heat shield.

The downside with new design is that rear doesnt gel with the heavy looking front and side. From the rear it rather looks slim. Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi should have designed a heavy looking rear to complement its front.

ZMR PGM-Fi runs on 4 stroke, SOHC single cylinder 223cc engine. The engine generates max power of 17.6 bhp at 7000rpm with peak torque of 18.35 Nm at 6000 rpm. Hero Honda Karizma ZMR engine misses a carburetor instead engine utilize PGM-FI system. PGM-Fi system has a 12 hole fuel injector 16bit ECU and 6 sensors which spits fuel into combustion chamber with pressure, hence better fuel efficiency and more BHP. PGM-Fi mixes the petrol and fuel in right quantity. The system controls the volume of fuel injection and injection timing. PGM-Fi system also ensures optimum performance by taking figures of engine temperature and outside temperature and intake air temperature. PGM-Fi has drastically increased power and speed of the bike.

Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi dons a two piece split handle bar that keep the biker in upright position making it suitable even in long distance run. The aerodynamic design protects from the slapping gush of high velocity wind. To give sporty stance riders foot rest is positioned bit on the rear side.

Karizma Fi has 80/100*18 -47p tubeless tyres on front and rear to better handled cornering. Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi has disc brakes even at rear wheel as well as front as standard. Front dics are 276mm and rear is 240 mm ensuring quick and less stopping distance.

Rear suspension is swing arm with 5 step Inverted Gas Reservoir Suspension (IGRS) and front suspension is telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers. Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi seems more balanced on the road than Pulsar 220. The saddle is very comfortable even at long journeys. In all Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi has undoubtedly brilliant ride feel.

Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi is a brilliant machine with outstanding style and technology. Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi is a top class, sporty looking bike in its segment. PGM-Fi system does give it a zest and full front fairing gives it resemblance to Hayabusa.

But Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi does come with few downsides. Acceleration and top speed is concern even though it is equipped with PGM-Fi technology. Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi is also highly priced in comparison to its competitor Bajay Pulsar 220, which come with a lesser price tag and more power.
