It is a common discussion whether the cell phone is more advantageous than the home phone or vice versa. And when you talk about this subject there are a lot of things that you need to consider. Comparing the cell phone and home phone, one important thing that we all need to think about is saving money on the monthly bill for whatever we are going to talk over the phone (cell phone or home phone). If you ask which phone service is apt to save money on the monthly bill, the common acceptable answer is both. Yes, the answer to a large extent depends on how much you talk with your phone service. You pay for what you talk, right? And, of course, there are different plan types that you may choose from while subscribing for a phone service. While the plan types are pretty much the same for each Home Phone Service, it differs for the cell phone service. As far as paying the bill for your cell phone is concerned, you have two different connection or services based on which you are going to get the bill.

In cell phone services, you have post paid and pre paid services. As we all know, the pre paid connection is something in which ...
... you recharge your number for a certain amount and start talking. However, a post paid cell phone service works pretty much like the home phone service. As and when you subscribe for the service, you are asked to choose a plan type of your choice ranging from the basic to the more advanced type. But the disadvantage is you have to pay for the monthly or yearly plan type even if you don’t use your phone to talk. It is like you pay for the rented service. So, as far as the cost is concerned, it all depends on how much you talk on your phone.

Given below are a few things you need to keep in mind while subscribing for a phone service.
Coming to the phone service there are several things you need to consider. First of all, you need to consider your lifestyle while choosing a phone service. If you are living in a place far away from your family members, then you may consider opting for a plan type in which the long distance rates are cheap. And generally speaking, if you are the kind of person who travels a lot, then there are chances that you may be billed heavily. In such cases, it would be good to have multiple numbers. This will help you cut the roaming charges.

As we all know, the main difference between a home phone and a cell phone is nothing but the convenience. The cell phones can be carried anywhere and are handy. Add to that, even if you are travelling, you can enjoy a lot of applications of the cell phones. Reliability is another factor that can be discussed about in order to differentiate the two. The landlines are still more reliable than the cell phones. There is no signal interference in case of the home phones. But the cell phone falters in places where there is a sudden hurricane or storm. In such a scenario, you may not even be able to contact the emergency 911 service. So, this is probably one of the major advantages of the home phone service over the cell phone service. The wireless vs wired technology is another difference between the two phone services. Sometimes, the wires of the phone may get broken and they need to be replaced then and there. To sum it up, the cell phone service is necessary if you want talk while you are outside.
