As all families are increasingly in need of broadband to help with work, homework, shopping and other tasks regardless of their income, BT can understandably take pride in supplying relatively low-cost but high-speed internet to its customers. The BT Internet options offer a number of features designed to help customers get the most out of the broadband service.

The best value package is probably the Broadband and Anytime Calls package, which offers customers 20MB of download speed and a 10GB data usage allowance every month with four months currently available for free only when you order online. In addition, customers are given free Wi-Fi minutes at BT OpenZone hotspots around the country, basic inbuilt online security and a BT Home Hub. The deal-breaker, however, is probably the inclusion of free landline calls at any time of the day or night, during the week or at weekends, making it that much easier to stay in contact.

There are also BT Home Broadband ...
... /b> BT Home Broadband packages which use super-fast BT Infinity broadband. This provides the majority of homes with download speeds of up to 40MB, while areas which have access to fibre-optic technology can receive staggeringly fast speeds of up to 100MB. Those deals are more expensive and many families do not need download speeds that fast, but the extras remain the same and it may be worth biting the bullet and getting the faster packages first, rather than getting locked into a contract for eighteen months and not being able to change when you realise you needed a more powerful service.

Families, because they often comprise at least four people, could be classed as heavy Internet users through their combined use, so the Unlimited Broadband and Evening and Weekend Calls BT Internet package would be ideal for their needs. A 20MB download speed is fine for streaming video and downloading files; while the unlimited data usage means that they can download as many files, videos and songs as they like every month without incurring extra charges.

While we have only touched on the amount of BT Home Broadband deals for families, it is clear that the company provides options for everyone, whatever their budget or the frequency of their Internet use may be - not only does the company provide broadband, but it can also be bundled with landline and television to create some exclusive recession-busting deals.
