Bharatbook.com is proud to announce the new report World Capacities and Shipments of Textile Machinery
(http://www.bharatbook.com/detail.asp?id=7886).

2004 was not a good year for the international textile machinery market. Although some sectors saw an improvement, most recorded a drop in shipments. The market for weaving machinery was slow in 2004. Deliveries of shuttleless looms, the more advanced weaving technology, grew by 4.6%. But shuttle loom shipments fell by almost 18% as only three countries ordered machines.

In the spinning sector, sales either declined or were fairly static. Deliveries of short staple ring spindles rose by only 0.2%, following a colossal 129% increase in 2003. Shipments of long staple spindles fell at a double-digit rate for the third successive year. Deliveries of open end rotors—which are based on a newer technology—fell by 19.8%.

Shipments of open end rotors to China more than halved, and the decline accounted for more than the global drop in deliveries. Nevertheless, China continued to be the leading buyer, followed by Turkey, India, the USA and Brazil. ...
... Moreover, there were a number of fast growing markets for open end rotors, including India, Belgium and Syria.

Fast growing markets for shuttleless looms in 2002 included China, India, Taiwan and Syria. Leading buyers included China, Turkey, India, Italy, Pakistan and Bangladesh. China alone took 48,231 shuttleless looms in 2004—which was 8.7% more than in 2003, although this was still below the 2002 figure of 51,273 looms. Nevertheless, the country continued to hold a commanding position, having acquired 74% of global shipments.
