Business Letters are official or formal letters which are primarily used for business-to-client, client-to-business and business-to-business communication. These letters have similar outline as of professional letters.

Business-to-client letters
Welcome Letter – This type of letter is written by an organization / company to welcome the clients on board & thank them for choosing the company to fulfill all needs.
Letter of Appreciation – It is to thank the client for dealing-in with the company.
Letter of Apology - This letter is written to ask for exculpation after making a serious mistake. The tone in this letter should be positive & soft with nominal self-deprecation.
Marketing Letter – This letter states the latest products or services which the organization provides or would start providing soon.

Letter of Inquiry – This type of letter is written by potential customers to find out more information about some products or services offered by the business. Formal language needs to be used in this type of letter. It has to precise and short.
Letter of Complaint – This type of letter is written to make a complaint for what wrong the receiver has done. It can be written by the client to business or business to business.
Well-written business letters are an ideal way to draw the attention of an individual or organization towards a problem or a solution and also to praise the receiver when required. Thus, these letters must be written carefully and need to be prefect in grammar and spellings. All formats need to be followed strictly to make the letters effective. Be clear, direct, concise and to-the-point.
