For those of the people who don’t have an idea of what an iPod is, It is actually a small phone like instrument that was created by Apple Inc to listen to music. It’s a portable media player. Wondering what a portable media player is? It is a small electronic instrument where you can store a lot of data which includes music, images, video, documents etc. do you want to know where all this data is stored? You will find it in the flash memory. Sometimes music can be played using MP3 players and other devices such as cell phones. As you know a lot of cell phones these days come with ability to play music. But when you talk about iPods, they are exclusively used for playing music and video files and sharing photographs alone.
The various types of iPods introduced are iPod touch, iPod classic, iPod nano and the ultra compact iPod shuffle. Talking about iPod classic, there have been around six versions of it where the most recent model is the one which has the maximum storage capacity of 160 GB of storage. iPoD touch is reffered to as the iTouch colloquially. It has in itself a game console, a wi-fi mobile, media player ...
... and a digital assistant. You get wireless access to the iTunes store. iTunes store is actually an online store which is owned by Apple Inc. this is where you can download a lot of music, videos and stuff. An interesting news is that so far the company has sold around 60 million copies of the iPods. Now that’s a lot of money that they have made. Isn’t it?
Talking about iPod nano, it is again a portable digital media player which Apple has introduced. This particular product was modified around 6 times since it was first introduced in the market. The most recently introduced models have inbuilt in them an FM radio, a pedometer, and a multitouch interface. Now for those of who are wondering what a pedometer is, it is an instrument that is used to calculate the number of steps that a person has taken during a period of time. It was initially used by fitness freaks but now more and more people are resorting to this instrument to know their exercise level s each day. You can wear these instruments on your hips everyday and place them on your belts and your job is pretty much done. Now how cool is that? A multi touch is nothing but a device that detects the movement when you touch the surface of the screen.
The iPod shuffle is probably the most portable and lightest media player that was introduced by Apple. There is no display when compared to an iTouch. You cannot play audio files that you usually are able to play on the iTouch. iTunes is a wonderful feature where the books that you purchase online immediately appear on your screen. It is completely unbelievable as to what they are capable of doing. You get to download movies and TV programs of your choice and you will just get information that you actually need an nothing more. iPhones are yet another great inventions and there are so many awesome features that you can rely on.
Using a feature called Siri, you can actually communicate with your phone and tell it to make the calls that you intend and send information to your buddies. It’s really amazing to know about all these features and the way technology has advanced these days. The other day I was catching up with a TV show aired on my Charter Cable about iPods and it completely blew me off my mind.
