JSP is a programming technology helps in creation of dynamic web pages and even application at the server end. Certain java code is embedded within HTML, XML, DHTML and even some documents types. Whenever user request for web pages, the static page is converted and is displayed as dynamic content to the user.

What is appbase and docbase?

WEB_INF directory is a default home directory, can even create other web applications by creating sub-directories under home directory, best way to upload a war file in the home directory or even creating a WEB-INF directory under it.
