Canister vacuums are more similar to the older vacuum cleaners, but they are still much improved. They are used for homes that have hardwood and/or tile floors and area rugs, as well as being used on draperies and upholstery. Upright vacuums are more widely used for wall to wall carpet, because the suction that a canister vacuum provides is not enough to clean this type of carpet. Usually, they can find one style that handles all of the needs that they have. By becoming educated on vacuum technology and the changes that have taken place in that field over the years, a person can get the right cleaning machine for his or her needs the first time.
