I Was A Wreck When I Was A Girl, So I Wish I Had Went To One Of Those Schools For Troubled Girls

If I had taken advantage of the schools for troubled girls that were available when I was a troubled girl, I would not be in the situation I am in now. It all started when I was a Junior in high school and I met Billy. Billy was simply stunning and I was not the only one who thought so. His appearance garnered more than a few fights between local girls. So, imagine my shock when Billy wanted to ask me out on a date.

It was uncommon for anyone to go on a "date," since people just kind of fell into serial relationships. My regard for Billy increased dramatically as we went to a nice place to eat and to the theater for a movie. I thought the date would be over after the movie, but Billy's plans included going to an alcohol fueled "gathering" in the forest outside of town.

It seemed like a good time and there were a few other people there I knew. Billy placed his hand on the small of my back in that manner that I enjoy and guided me around. I was in heaven, so when Billy pulled out a flask and offered me a drink, I didn't say no. The flask contained something I didn't recognize, which is not shocking as ...

I am not a very big girl, so it only took a few sips to get myself pretty drunk. Soon, I was unable to speak or walk properly, so Billy carried me to his truck. We were in the car for fifteen minutes or so before I began to question why we were not headed back to my house. When we couldn't see any more lights of civilization, Billy put his hands on my face and gave me a smooch that I responded to enthusiastically. Billy and I began seeing a lot more of each other, and every time we did, he'd pull out his flask, and offer me some, which I always accepted. It seemed that Billy was never without his flask and that he never let it get empty.

Within a few brief months, I went from good girl to alcoholic. Mom and Dad tried their best to make me see the error of my ways and enroll in one of those schools for troubled girls, but instead, Billy and I headed for Seattle. A few years later, I'm living in squalor, Billy is nowhere to be found, and I drink as much as I can. If I had only gone to reform school when given the chance, I might be a sober, stable person today.
