To all those who think that by just getting a bariatric surgery done for weight loss, they have won the fight against fat. No, it is not true. Surgery, diet and medicines are just there to break the ice. The battle is much longer, tougher and complex. It requires a lot of effort, dedication to lose all the extra weight that is on our body, and the process is long a tedious. The only skill that pays in the long run is focus. Focus on the aim and working hard to achieve the goal.

Most bariatric surgeon say that after each procedure, the situation becomes more complex as the onus of making a surgery completely successful and last a lifetime lies on the patient and their family. It is the patient who does the tougher part of the entire procedure, which the bariatric surgeon say is, compliance. Controlling the quantity, eating more of protein and vegetables, drinking water, mild exercise, avoiding binging are few basics of a healthy life after bariatric surgery.

Always remember that you should never associate food with emotions. Yes, most Indians have the habit of clubbing eating with moods and emotions. We tend to ...
... go high on sweets during festivals, ice cream is the relief from sadness and grief, and pungent food, oily and spicy curries mark celebrations at our homes. This typically Indian notion of associating food with emotions is an extremely wrong thing to do. We should always consume as many calories as we can burn. Especially after a surgical procedure, there is not much energy in the body to perform activities that will burn the consumed calories. Therefore, one should stick to eating light. Salad, porridge, and boiled vegetables are good to go for the first three weeks after the surgical procedure. The shift towards more hard solids should be gradual and slow.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that post bariatric surgery; there is a lifetime dependency on supplements such as vitamins, and protein. Given that the stomach and its natural ability to eat and digest certain vitamins reduces up to a certain level, supplements that are easily soluble and digestible are a necessary for keeping all bodily activities in place. Most surgeons say that the bariatric surgery cost in India can be estimated by keeping in mind the cost of buying these medicines. In India, compared to the rest of the world, medicines are much cheaper and available at a nominal price.

This could be one reason that the total bariatric surgery cost in India comes to much cheaper than in any other part of this world. Therefore, more and more people visit India especially to avail the medical benefits.
