The traditional wedding functions of Muslim community are simple and brief. The religious part will be the most important of the celebrations and will be hardly for two hours. They can conduct marriages on any day of the year except two days - Eid and Muharram. In most of the cases, the marriages are arranged my parents only after obtaining the consent of the bride and bridegroom. The function can be conducted at any time of the day. Though traditionally it is a brief and simple function, many people in the Muslim community make it a grand celebration that lasts for 2 to 3 days and for the celebrations they can choose any place as the party venues. The bride and groom will not meet face-to-face on the day of marriage. Both of them will be signing the marriage contract in presence of witnesses. Though the religious part is so simple, the marriage partiers and other celebrations are colourful and full of fun and entertainment. The most colourful program conducted at the party venues will be the Mehendi ceremony which will be held in the night of tahe first day of the three day celebrations. Women of both families attend this function wearing formal dresses and this function is conducted either separate or jointly for the bride and groom. When it is conducted jointly, there will be more fun and excitement. The Islamic wedding accessories mainly consist of the costumes for bride and groom. During the Mehendi ceremony, bride will be wearing traditional yellow dresses and henna paste will be applied on her hands. On the day of the wedding the bride will be dressed in red colored skirt with long blouse having golden embroidery designs.

On the day of the wedding bride will be wearing a lot of gold jewelery. A long scarf will be hung over her head. Islamic wedding accessories for bridegroom include either a typical western style full suit or the traditional Sherwani and a turban. The grooms head will be decorated with veil of rose flowers. The grooms family will host a grand feast on the night of the wedding and it is also known asvalima. Nikah and Valima are the two parts of Muslim wedding the ritualistic and the social.
