Sir Thomas Edison first discovered the incandescent light bulb when he ran an electric current through a filament made of a type of metal called tungsten. When the electric current passed through the tungsten filament, it caused the filament to glow, emitting both heat and light, and thus the first light bulb was invented. After some time, however, the filament snapped and stopped producing heat and light, and thus the first light bulb was extinguished. For a long time, incandescent light bulbs were the only option when it came to light bulbs. Then the light emitting diode, or LED, was invented. Since then, LED bulbs have been made that function as substitutes for most, if not all, of the purposes for which incandescent bulbs are used. These lights continue to use traditional light bulbs in the large majority of cars. You can, however, choose to replace them with LED bulbs on your own. The procedure is simple and straightforward, and can usually be completed in the space of a few minutes per bulb.

One aspect of vehicle lighting that is probably the most neglected is the ceiling lighting. LED plafonnier lights really are much more pleasant than regular ceiling lights, because they are not as harsh. The interior of a car is a relatively small space, and LED plafonnier lighting is much better suited to lighting spaces of such size. There are even some people who complain of headaches when they are exposed to the harsh light of regular ceiling lights for too long but do not suffer any discomfort when using LED plafonnier lights.

In most cars, the bulbs used for ceiling lights are of the W5W model, and you will need the corresponding LED W5W bulbs. Installing LED W5W bulbs is usually a very simple process. Once the cover and old bulbs are removed, the LED W5W bulbs can simply be pushed into the receptor socket. Before attempting to install LED W5W bulbs in your car, however, you must remember to turn the engine off, otherwise you risk injury to yourself if an active electrical current is flowing through the socket as you attempt to install the new LED W5W bulbs. Once done, you can turn on your car engine and enjoy the more soothing light of your new LED plafonnier bulbs.
