Understanding More About The Substance Called Bunker Fuel

Bunker fuel is use special for several reasons that you may or may not be aware of, and it is always good to know where these types of substances come from and what they can be used for. Since it is not a very broadly used substance, most people know absolutely nothing about it, but if anyone who intends to be working with it should know everything about it.
Bunker fuel is just one of many of the substances that you get when crude oil is broken down, and it is later put into a specific classification based on its properties. There are oil rigs and platforms all around the globe whose sole purpose is to extract crude oil from beneath the ground and ship it to a refinery so that it can be broken down into a variety of substances with different boiling points. The operations that go on inside oil refineries are some of the most sophisticated processes in any industry, because they literally involve breaking one substance down into many others.
Each substance found in crude oil comes with a different boiling point, so heating the crude oil will produce many layers of separate substances. What you will find ...
... on top will be some of the most combustible substances known to man, such as the kind of fuels the Air Force uses in their jets. At the very bottom of all of these layers you will find the substance that is the densest and the slowest to burn than any of the others, and that substance is none other than what we call bunker fuel.
As previously mentioned, this substance falls into a number of different classifications, and this is because it can contain a number of different chemicals and contaminants that are impossible to remove, making it not ideal for every intended use. Each different classification of this substance comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages that makes it more ideal for some uses than others, but there is one factor that all of the various classifications have in common, which is that this substance creates more pollution than any other petroleum product in use around the world.
Since it is so dense and cannot burn without first being heated, bunker fuel can only really be used in engines that are incredibly large. This is why you will primarily find this kind of fuel being used in large ships and vessels that have the capacity necessary to house and prepare the substance before putting it to good use.
