Lighting Bars - Multi-functional Equipment Delivering High Performance

Lighting bars are multi-functional because they provide plenty of features which go beyond providing a very strong warning signal. The essential function of a light bar is to offer a flashy lighting that cannot be missed by any of the motorists on the road. These light bars should be reliable and should function under all kinds of weather conditions. The light bars should be able to provide wide angle penetrative lighting which can be perceived from a very long distance. Advancement of technology has ensured that modern light bars provide a variety of features and also an assortment of light heads that can be installed with ease. Light bars often used on emergency vehicles such as fire engines and heavy equipment carriers comprise of LED modules, strobes, work lights, alley lights and flashing takedowns.
Lighting bars used on emergency vehicles are capable of operating in several different modes and this adds to their effectiveness and efficiency. For example, you might need lights with greater intensity during the day time or when there is plenty of ambient light that makes spotting the emergency lights ...
... difficult. At the same time, when it is dark out there or when the lights don’t need to really convey very critical cautionary signals, light bars can be operated in cruise lighting mode. Some light bars come with dimmers which could be ideal for saving power. Obviously, to provide the ability to operate in different modes to a light bar, there needs to be an intensity control knob to operate the lights.
Most Lighting bars these days come with built in flash patterns although external flashers are used in some scenarios. Self-contained electronics and built in flash sequences make the light bars a lot more effective and efficient. Full length light bars come with more than 50 different flashing sequences including slow and rapid blinking, cyclical flashes, double, triple and quad flashes, quad bursts and sequential rapid flashing. All these patterns make sure that the light bars emit warning signals that can be seen from a distance. The multi-functional bars come with systems that can actually help integrate the flashes with sirens, which make the emergency equipment even more effective.
The high performance Lighting bars come with control panels that make operating the different functions very easy. For example, 7 position slide or rotary switches are used to easily scan, select and lock the desired flash functions. High quality light bars come with corner LED strobes and even gyratory light heads which can help in providing 360-degree visibility. Some light bars are assembled with multiple LED modules or segments, with separate controls for each of them. As a result users can operate different flash patterns in different segments. Front and rear facing modules can be useful when you want a warning light to be emitted in every single direction. The performance of light bars can also be accentuated through the right mounting options such as bail brackets which can allow you to adjust the height and angle based on the exact requirement.
