Because the bean bag toss is an easy game with simple rules and no difficult athletics, it is very popular with people of all ages. Most often it is played in western and northern parts of the country, but there are groups of bean bag players all throughout the United States. It is simply a matter of finding them. Many tournaments are organized by people who enjoy playing the bean bag game. There can be cash and prizes, or simply the joy of competition. No matter what the stakes, either at a backyard get-together or in a competitive tournament, many people enjoy playing the bean bag toss. A lot of people play it at birthday parties and other events, helping to increase its popularity.
