Staying in is the new going out and as we all look to cut back on our spending, staying in with some friends is something that many people are choosing to do. If you are planning a wine tasting evening with some friends then there are a few things you need to consider to make sure that the evening goes really well and that everyone has a great night.

The first thing to do is to make sure you have the space to host a wine tasting party, depending on the number of people you are inviting, you may have to think about extra chairs and tables because you do not want to leave people standing up! So, the space required for your guests is going to depend on who you are planning on inviting, which leaves us nicely on to the next point. Who do you want to invite is going to be an important part of the evening because it is going to dictate how much wine you need and any extra chairs you may need.

The questions you need to ask yourself is; are you just going to invite your closest friends or are you going to extend the invitation a little further? If you are hosting a wine tasting evening for the first time then it is probably ...
... best that you invite a handful of friends to make sure you are not trying to take on too much at one go. Once you have your guest list ready and know where you are going to host it, you need to decide which types of wine you are going to have.

It is good to mix up the types of wine that you are going to provide so that your guests have a chance to taste a variety of tastes. You of course have a choice of red, white and rose wine but this is just the start as you now have a wide range of wines to choose from with new and old world wines available. The new world wines that are on the market differ from the traditional wines available because they mix the different types of grape together to offer customers a new and refreshing taste. For wine tasting events, this eclectic mix means that each glass is different to the other and allows the guest to get a different flavour with each sip.

Remember to provide snacks in between each wine and ensure that you rinse your mouth with water in between each type of wine to ensure your pallet is ready for the next wine.

For a wide range of dinner party wines, go online or in your local store and look for the fantastic range of South African white wines that are available.
