Respisense The Worlds First Ever Portable Baby Respiratory Monitor

Respisense The Worlds First Ever Portable Baby Respiratory monitor
Respisense, which simply clips onto the waistband of a diaper, quietly and unobtrusively monitors baby's breathing efforts while asleep. When all movement ceases a loud alarm will alert the nearest caregiver. The Respisense model Buzz has the built-in TummyTickleâ„¢ feature that attempts to stir baby to resume breathing before sounding the alarm. This gentle, proactive stimulation is a world's first, and works by way of gentle tactile stimulation that mimics the efforts of nurses in neonatal wards.
Because babies don't always sleep in their cots, no other monitor allows the freedom of movement, safety in design and proactive response that Respisense does. It can be used practically anywhere baby may fall asleep - in a cot, on a picnic blanket or in grandmother's lap. Co-sleeping babies, be it multiples in one cot or babies in need of special care, can now be monitored safely while sharing a bed or lying right next to mother. Respisenseâ„¢ can also easily be used in any hammock-style sleeper, where traditional monitors cannot work. It is ...
... simply the most portable and convenient instrument for monitoring baby's breathing efforts.
Who needs Respisense monitors?
Respisense is recommended as a parenting aid for all babies under age 1, especially during their most vulnerable first 6 or 8 months, to alert parents to possible life-threatening events associated with a cessation in breathing movments.
What do Respisense monitors do?
Respisense monitors the tummy movement of a baby, including his or her breathing effort. If all movement stops, slows down too much or becomes too shallow the built-in stimulator will attempt to gently stir baby to resume breathing, failing which a loud alarm will alert the nearest adult. Respisense monitors are particularly suitable for babies at home, because trouble doesn't just happen in cots and no other monitor allows the freedom of movement that Respisense does.
Why Respisense?
Respisense heralds a completely new approach to baby monitoring, eliminating all the hazards of older designs and making monitoring easy and perfectly portable. It is the first cable-less breathing monitor and can be used from cot to créche to grandmother's lap.
Is Respisense safe?
Respisense was designed by a father and extensively tested on his own triplets for more than 2 years. By eliminating the hazards inherent in traditional designs, these uniquely shaped monitors were designed to be the world's safest: they have no cables that can strangle a baby, no straps that can constrict blood circulation to hands or feet, and no mains connections that could wear and cause electrocution or start fires. There aren't even batteries to replace that could create choking hazards.
The monitors carry the CE mark of safety, conform to 2001/95/EC and 89/336/EEC requirements as certified by TUV Rheinland Quality Services, and are subject to ISO9001:2000 quality management processes.
How often do I need to replace batteries?
The special high-capacity, feather-light batteries used by the Respisense allow about a year's use, and would therefore not even need to be replaced during the first 6 to 8 months that babies are most at risk. Safety of the monitors is further enhanced by sealing the batteries inside the units, protected from inquisitive explorers and preventing babies from chewing or choking on spent batteries. These eco-friendly power sources can be replaced by the manufacturer at a very reasonable fee for parents wishing to pass their monitors on or use them for subsequent children.
