Beginning with the right skin care routine can be difficult considering all of the skin care product options, home skin care solutions and medical treatments. Depending on your situation, any number of programs might be a good choice (each of which is suitable for its own website at the very least). The information here is especially for those who are just getting going with a daily skin care routine and will focus on the three key ingredients which any {{{skincare|skin care|skin treatment}} regimen should be built. These are skin cleanser, skin toner and moisturizers.

Skin Cleansers

Skin care creams and lotions are available for every skin type you can think of and it's easy to get lost in this "one step fix" or that "new life saver". One thing that will always be the same regardless of your unique circumstances is that a reliable cleanser is a must. These products are your first tool in treating the skin and preparing it for the next steps in your routine. Keep in mind that not all skin cleansers are going to be as effective, especially when you start to consider skin type. A heavy cream cleanser is not going ...
... to be good to use if your skin is oily. A clay based cleanser can cause excessively dry skin since they can remove the skin's essential moisture. The best skin cleanser will clear the skin without introducing imbalances.

Using Skin Toner

Toner is also known as astringent. The point of using skin toner is to clean the skin more aggressively and helping to remove dead cells, makeup and debris that was missed by your cleanser. Having a good skin toner in your skin care collection can help you avoid breakouts and open up the skin so that it is better prepared to utilize moisturizer. Don't forget however is that these products can be a bit more irritating on the skin than a cleanser. They also have the ability to make the skin dry and to irritate those with sensitive skin. Choosing a skin care product that does not contain alcohol here is very important, especially for dry skin treatment or skin that suffers from quick irritation.

Moisturizers

The third pillar of our three prong of any skin careprogram is an effective moisturizer. Top shelf skin moisturizers contain moisturizing and rejuvenating ingredients. Like skin cleansers and skin toner, moisturizer should be selected based on your actual skin type. Moisturizers are usually labeled by weight with the lightweight products containing less oil and compounds that can feel "weighty" on the skin. As was mentioned earlier, a heavy moisturizer, which is a good choice for those with a dry skin type, may not be wise to use on an oily skin type since this may simply lead to more problem.

Those three products are a must for any good skin care program. Taking into account the age of your skin and whether or not you are having to manage certain skin conditions, other advanced skin care treatments may be necessary. If this is the case, be sure to speak to a dermatologist before applying any skin care products.
