Unemployment In Uk Put Young People Future In Dark

The UK is taking many initiatives but will these be enough of a boost for the economy, when consumers face a combination of soaring prices, higher taxes and slow wage increases leading to unemployment. The problem of unemployment in UK has reached to its highest level since 1994, when the European countries are facing financial crisis. Unemployment has been hitting the young generation hardest as the public as well as the private companies fail to create and make up for job losses. A pressure is building on the government to boost a stagnant economy. The UK government is blaming Global Financial Crisis and the Euro zone turmoil as the major reasons behind the rise in unemployment rate.
However, it is not only the UK that is facing the problem of unemployment. There are many other European countries that are bearing this issue. Today there are around 1.04 million unemployed people in the UK aged between 16 and 24, indicating that more than one in five young people are looking for work. According to the Office for National Statistics which started examining this area in 1992, it is the highest figure ever recorded. The ...
... ONS believes that it’s a problem for many more people than just those young people who are no longer in education but searching to get a job.
Economists also warned that the figures are a disaster and the economy was just not strong enough to create jobs as the jobless rate hit 8.1 percent, the highest since 1996. To deal with this problem, few days ago, the Bank of England launched a fresh round of stimulus to prevent a recession. The UK government has been banking heavily in private companies to generate enough jobs to make up for the losses of private sector jobs, but economists are not satisfied and are worried with the drop in employment. Moreover, the Employment Minister Chris Grayling is agreed too that the figures were not at all positive. The Commission on Youth Unemployment points out that the Unemployment hurts at any age; but for young people, long-term unemployment scars for life. It means lower earnings leads to more unemployment, more ill health later in life. It also indicates more inequality between rich and poor. Further it poses particular challenges for young women creating more division between communities.
