Traits Of Modern Emergency Vehicle Lights That Make It Valuable

The modern emergency vehicle lights come with plenty of innovation. It is important to be innovative given that emergency lights are used in several critical situations each with its set of demands. For example, emergency lights could be mounted inside the vehicle in which case they need to be compact and yet efficient enough to provide a strong warning signal. Dash lights are specifically designed to be mounted on flat or curved surfaces or on the headliner dash. There are visor lights which can provide an efficient signal and are lightweight enough to be mounted behind the visors with Velcro straps. However, these lights don’t really obstruct the view of the driver. The innovation is also seen in the form of a black polycarbonate hood or shield which is provided on internal emergency lighting equipment to prevent distraction to the driver, especially when flash patterns are being operated.
The interior mount emergency vehicle lights like dash and visor lights come with clear lenses, which are virtually undetectable when the lights are not turned on. Due to their compact size they are easily concealable too which ...
... adds to their effectiveness, especially when they are used in unmarked vehicles during covert operations. There are deck lights too which can be mounted close to the rear deck or even adjacent to the windshield. Grille lights also give you some flexibility and can be mounted without actually removing the front grille. Emergency lights like light bars and LED strobes are also designed specifically for external mounting.
One of the major features is the encapsulation of the LED modules using UV resistant Fresnel domes which assist in producing wide angle beams especially useful on the highways at intersection points and sharp curves. The light bars have sealed polycarbonate bases which provide moisture and vibration resistance. An innovative feature seen in emergency vehicle lights is the presence of a variety of flash patterns which tend to be far more perceivable and attention grabbing compared to steady lights. Emergency lights come with Scan Lock mechanism to make operation of flash patterns very easy and efficient. Parabolic reflectors made of aluminium are used to maximise the lighting output from the LEDs. Clear and coloured lenses and filters are used as well to enhance the quality of the lighting.
Clear replaceable polycarbonate lenses help in adjusting the beam angle and quality. Moreover, these lenses are not detectable when used in dash and deck lights. The mounting hardware too gives you flexibility in terms of how you want to adjust the lights. Adjustable height brackets for example let you mount the light bars at the right height wherever you mount it. Suction cups are used for emergency vehicle lights when you don’t want to drill holes in the surface of the vehicles. There are both temporary magnetic mounting options and permanent options like swivel brackets. Special pads are provided to preventing scratching of the surface by the mounting hardware. Staggered mounting of strobes, front and rear light head control and gyratory light heads are other instances of innovation seen in emergency lights.
