How much would you allow for a typical weekend in London? If you stay in a posh hotel and take in a West End show you may not get much change out of several hundred pounds. But it is possible to see the best of London while spending a good deal less than this. You just need to know how it is done.

For starters not everything in London has to be paid for in order to see it. For example if you want to see a show or ride on the London Eye, then you will need to pay for the privilege. But what about visiting one of the many amazing museums London has to offer? Many of these do not require an entry fee. Most will appreciate a donation if you want to give one, but it is not necessary. You can wander around the galleries of such delights as the Natural History Museum and the Museum of London and it won’t cost you a penny to do so.

You also have access to London’s green spaces. Think about Kensington Gardens for example, or nearby Hyde Park. There are some cheap hotels near Hyde Park Park ...
... too so you won’t have to walk far to get there. The good news is that there is cheap accommodation Hyde Park – you just have to look beyond the posh hotels to find it. But it will still provide you with a comfortable and welcoming stay in London.

So what else can you do in London that won’t cost much? How about exploring Covent Garden? There are many delightful little shops and stalls here that you won’t find anywhere else. There are also places to stop and get a snack or a coffee if you find yourself flagging. You might like to allow a small amount of spending money to purchase something from one of the stalls, but this is up to you. It’s not far to get from Covent Garden to the River Thames either. This is ideal if you want to see the river and enjoy a walk along the Embankment.

So you can see that once you have booked into one of the cheap hotels near Hyde Park you can enjoy lots of free activities during your stay in London. Cheap accommodation Hyde Park will probably be your main outlay; after that you can look forward to enjoying all the free delights that London has to offer. The more research you do in advance, the easier it will be to find all these free activities and to make the most of them too. This will be the best way to get a stunning weekend in London without breaking the bank.
