Blue Screen of Death,the name itself is a dramatic one. Officially,it is known as Stop Error. Many of the Microsoft Windows users have faced it. However, what is it?

Blue Screen of Death is an error message or error screen.This screen is shown when the OS (Operating System) has stumbled upon an error that it cannot recover form or has stepped over a bug that it cannot bypass. Therefore it shows a blue screen with the error details on it. The only thing you can do when you see this error screen is to manually restart your computer. The blue screen and the action you have to take when you see it gave it the name “Blue Screen of Death”.

This appearance of blue screen can be triggered by many reasons. There are no specific reasons. But mostly the reasons are as follows:

1. Recent hardware changes.
• If you remove or add a hardware that is not compatible with your system.
• If it is not removed or added properly.
• If the hardware is faulty.
2. Recent software changes.

Well, they are not all of the reasons. There are many othersbut those are the common reasons for the blue screen of death to appear.

When you face this dreaded error screen, you cannot do anything. You have to perform a manual restart. Therefore, if you were working with something and you did not saved, that will be lost.
If you are facing this error screen often, then you should fix it up before something worse happens. So let us see, how to fix blue screen of death?

First, you have to find out the reason, which is causing this. Try to figure out the recent hardware or software changes you made. If you can figure that out, then just undo what you have done. If you need to reinstall them, then do that properly. There might be recently installed drivers that are causing this. In that case, just uninstall them and reinstall them properly. Check to make sure that everything is working properly.

If you yet continue to face the error screen, then the case is different. There might be broken registry or something. You may way want to use the System Restore Point at this time. To access System Restore Point, do the following: Go to,

Start menu All Programs ,Accessories ,System Tools , System Restore.

You must have administrative privilege to do any changes. Once you are there, choose the restore point you want to go back to and then execute it. Only System files will be reverting to an earlier point. Non-system files will not be affected.

If the problem persists, try to detach all you hardware and reattach them again. If you do not know how to do so, then do not attempt this.
