Nainital Naturally

Nainital is pleasant and a green hill station, that attracted to the homesick British at once, who were driven of the Cumbria Lake District. It was ascertained by a Mr. Barron and he had his yacht contained here in 1840. The Naini Tal Boat Club, whose wooden clubhouse still adorns the perimeter of the lake, became the elegance of the community. But a great disaster struck on 16 September 1880 when a major landslip occurred and buried 151 people in the Assembly Halls area and created the activity ground now known as the Flats.
There are two main markets – Tallital and Mallital on either sides of the Lake well connected by Mall Road.
There are some excellent sightseeing options in Nainital out of which the Naini Lake is the most appealing one. The Naini Lake is said to be one of the emerald green eyes of Sati, wife of Goddess Shiva. Her eye falling here makes this lake a holy spot and the popular Naina Devi Temple is near the northern end of the lake. Nearby the lake is a small Tibetan market.

... way. It's a pleasant ride down past the Tibetan caves. The Rs 30 return ticket gives you only one hour at the top and a set time for your return. At the top there are powerful binoculars set for a close view of Nanga Devi peak.
St John’s Church was built in 1847, containing a brass memorial to the victims of the famous landslide. The few bodies that could be discovered from the rubble were buried in the graveyard here.
Another unique feature of Nainital is the lovely scented candles available at any souvenir shop at the Mall. There are gel, animal-shaped, floating and even the cheesy heart-shaped candles in all sizes for your loved ones. If you plan to travel before the festive season, they make excellent gifts.
There are a number of Nainital hotels and you can choose from a wide variety like affordable Nainital hotels, luxury resorts and five star hotels. The amenities provided by the hotels vary according to the tariff and the rates.
There are more than 200 hotels in Nainital . Discounts are also available depending on the time for your trip, as rates are higher during the peak season. It is worth paying a few pennies more for a room with the lake view. All you need to do is book your hotel rooms well in advance so that you don’t face any last minute problems.
