Ursus Americanus or can also be called the American Black Bears may be seen in North America. People usually assume that Black Bears live in eastern part of United States but in truth, they can also be seen in Northern America as well. You can usually see black Types of Bears form Alaska up to Florida and usually live in forested areas.

Black bears usually avoid grizzly bears which any animals that lived in open habitats. The truth is that black bears has great sense of eyesight and smell. Though they've an awkward gait because they've short legs than the forearms they are one of the most intelligent Bears.

Even if their name implies black Bear, they consist of different colors that differ in their 16 subspecies and many of them are extinct as well. Right now with laws that govern the poaching and trading of bears, their species and their subspecies have become increasing.
