Total area of the natural park is more than 27000 hectares. Portugal has only one marine reserve known as Gararjau Marine Reserve. It is situated in Madeira’s Natural Park.

Desertas Island’s Natural Reserve cannot be missed, if you really want to add tinge of natural freshness to your cheap holidays to Madeira . This reserve has become a rage among those who love to capture sea birds in their cameras. While walking through the reserve, you would come across variety of sea birds. Most common ones are shearwater, buzzard, storm-petrel and bulwer’s petrel. Besides bird watching, you can also enjoy scuba diving in the reserve. You just need to dive into the warm turquoise waters to admire incredible underwater beauty.
