Entertain Your Wedding Guests The Right Way
At the end of the day, the cake will be a blur, the dress will be forgotten, and the flowers will be a wilted memory. The only thing your guests will remember is what a great time they had at your wedding. What they will remember is the foot thumping music and the non stop dancing. And that's what you want, right? A wedding where people are dozing off in utter boredom isn't your goal.
Plan your entertainment the right way. Make sure you get to see the band perform. They might offer you a taped performance for you to watch, or even invite you to a reception that they're slated to perform at so you can watch them live. You have to be happy with the sort of entertainment you are putting up at your wedding, and you need to make an informed decision.
Make sure they are professionals. Entertainment companies are a dime a dozen these days, and most of them will fold up in a few months' time. A professional company, you are guaranteed will bring along high quality acoustic equipment to your venue, and be able to set the whole thing up without bothering you about it. They need to function well as a unit, and they need to ...
... have backup emcees, DJs and entertainers ahead of schedule in case of emergencies.
If you're confused about the band you have auditioned for your event, ask around for references. Chances are your caterers, wedding planner or photographer would have heard of the band or been part of the same wedding event in the past.
While choosing the entertainment for the event, make sure that you book at least 6 months in advance. If it's a peak season, you might have to book even further in advance.
If you're confused about what kind of music you want at your wedding, ask the band for suggestions. This will make clear to you whether they are the right company for your wedding. A professional company will have experience providing entertainment for different weddings, and will have no problem figuring out what kind of music goes with the kind of crowd you expect. Whether it's the first dance song (which you will probably decide yourself) or the dance with your father, an experienced band will be able to help you decide on the subtle nuances that go into make a wedding not just great, but PERFECT!
