The community of Cartaya has exotic beaches called Nuevo Portil and El Rompido. The place is situated near El Portil, but the border line is so minimal that the tourists can never make out any difference between the two places. The beach is beautiful with sandy banks and is great fun to play around for all. The place being located near the pine yard and junipers makes it even more interesting. Here you get to see the Atlantic Ocean in a very magnificent manner. The beautiful ocean will leave you spellbound.This beach was not very popular until recently.

Many hotels and restaurants built in this locality have made this place popular and attract some decent crowd during the peak season. Though tourists come here for vacation, this still is an unexplored area by most of them. So if you want to enjoy a peaceful vacation, then this is the right destination. The silent beach and the interesting locality with not many people to trouble you is all that is needed to take back some good memories after your holiday.

If you are interested in sports, then the golf courses here is a must visit. There are in total two golf courses ...
... and one has as many as 36 holes. It has enough space to accommodate many people at the same time. There is also a sports centre very close to the El Rompido beach. Besides this, you could visit the natural park that has to be reached through boat travel. The land is around 12kms into the sea and so the travel to this place itself is quite exciting. There is adequate boat service available to cater to the needs of the tourists. The park is called Flecha de El Rompido and its an extraordinary natural scene that cannot be missed if you happen to go to this place.

The place is naturally formed by the sand and other deposits brought in by strong wind and sea waves. The land has been created only in 200 years and every year, studies have revealed that the land is expanding by around 40 metres. You will see many rare species of animals in this park, living in natural environment. There is a very beautiful and attractive beach in this park. The Moorish castle, villa huren spanje, Castillo de San Miguel, located in this place is a must see for the people interested in ancient history.
